After a nice cup of coffee/tea/herb (shiso, jusmine and cardamom leaf) tea,

The CEO of Koppert Cress, Mr Rob Baan, explained passionately about the company and interesting stories.

We tried different kinds of leaves, cress and flowers. They were exciting and surprising in taste! The highlight was the oyster leaf!

After the tasting we had a nice lunch on the terrace. We got the guided tour of Koppert Cress by Mr Rob Baan and ended with the speech of

Minister Nakano from the Japanese Embassy and Mrs Fumiko Inoue, co-chair of the RJC.

An opening party was held in the innovative greenhouse. Koppert Cress is involved in innovative technology.

They also produce shiso, kaiware daikon and sansho, which are well known in Japan.

It was a very inspiring visit. Mr Baan’s passion and love for the environment and health is fantastic. We received a generous gift of a selection of cress to take home.

At this moment, preparations are in full swing for the realization of a world premiere. A documentary about the centuries-long friendship between Japan and the Netherlands, with a prominent role reserved for the deep passion of many Dutch people for Japanese culture. The film is intended for a wide audience. The goal is to premiere the film at the World Expo in Osaka, Japan in 2025.
