The bus left on time. Near by Kasteel de Haar ,we had tea at a cosy restaurant. Then we arrived at the castel. Our co-chair Mr. Erik Geering gave a welcome speech. It was raining when we arrived at Kasteel de Haar, but fortunately that stopped before the speach of Mr. Geering commenced.

Kasteel de Haar is a very beautiful castle and we heard that a wedding ceremony was held there that day. For most of the participants, it was their first visit to the castle and we enjoyed it very much.

During the tour, staff talked about some interesting intems of each room, so we were able to learn many things.

Then it was lunch time at a restaurant in front of Huis Doorn, which is an an other castel in the area.

We could make a choice of asparagus soup for starter, carpaccio or salmon salad for main course, and dessert.

Since we arrived much later than expected at the restaurant, due to construction works on the A12, the board members contacted the restaurant to inform them about our delay and our choices of the main dish in advance. In this way we could start our lunch as soon as we arrived at the restaurant! (Thank you very much for the smooth arrangement!) We visited Huis Doorn in two groups with a guide. The guides explained each room very precisely. Although we did not have enough time to see everything, it was a very educational visit anyway.

We returned at Kralingse Zoom on time. I’m sure that many members arrived home in time to watch EK football Spain against Croatia.
